DJ Beave is one of America's most musically versatile and globally respected underground DJ's. Despite his nature to fly steadily below the world's Superstar DJ radar, over the past decade Beave has gained legions of devoted fans in worldwide broadband rooms who are all seeking him to feed there souls with his melodic tunes.

Beave is obsessed with finding and exposing new music. His training started from a basement on a hard street in Wilmington,DE called the CARTER. His teacher was a big light handed cat named Grand Wizard Theodore aka J.Collins. The basement was the platform for music of all kinds. If you did not sleep, eat and breath music you were denied entrance. Your were tested on the spot, straight arm techniques with pickering needles that were weighed down with a nickel, a phone receiver that was transformed into headphones and a selection of five songs to prove your skills on the turntables.  If you were an MC you battled on the sidewalk to prove your worth. 

With a mother and farther who ran their own businesses, sung in music groups, toured with bands Like MAZE and promoted major events like the Budweiser Superfest, it was inevitable that DJ Beave would create his own entertainment business. This sparked the official creation of Phases Of Black Entertainment. 

The onset of Beave's DJ career started when he was 12 and was spinning at his own junior high events. Now he's performed abroad and his musical memory is an encyclopedia of Neo-Soul/R&B/Hip-Hop/Gospel/Jazz/Spoken Word/Classic Soul music history. When not on the road, he's either mining beats in his Delaware studio or diligently searching for set material in the troughs of New York and Philly shops. His productions span the arenas of Neo-Soul and Jazz, Hip-Hop. Impossible to put to words, it's usually a place he goes mentally that creates his extended play where every style comes together--blending, lifting, causing a style unto its own.

During performances, DJ Beave's preferred musical palate consists of two turntables, a mixer, a couple of CD players, and a powered monitor. During his frequent shows in Philly it's typical to see him grabbing, twisting and manipulating clusters of knobs, buttons and faders. Sometimes daring and unexpected but strangely fitting sounds are injected into the system on the fly, displaying a true love for his craft, never afraid to experiment.

Given time to warm up, DJ Beave will challenge your taste and sense of what a DJ should be. Few master the flow of seamless genre shifting within one set with such technical mastery.

Relentlessly rising as one of the world's primary Underground Neo/Hip-Hop Soul music luminaries, Beave has even occasionally been granted access to the star studded jam sessions in click tight DJ booths in the most exclusive nightclubs. Refusing politics, a true hero to the underground, DJ Beave displays equal parts skill and business finesse, giving proof to the dream that living what you love can become a reality.
